I’m loving satchel bags and there are some gorgeous ones around at the moment! Here are my favourite 5:

1. If you’re looking for a bright statement bag then this one by Lipsy is a must-have! Available online from (£45)

2. I’ve added this gorge leather satchel to my Christmas list, it’ll look great with my tanned coat! Available from (£80).

3. This classic satchel is available from Oasis ( and comes in a variety of colours (£32).

4. Loving this floral laminate satchel from Accessorize (£35 from

5. This sophisticated Ostrich satchel can be yours from (£48)

The online world is now such a big part of most people’s lives- to be honest I feel I’d be lost without it! It’s a love/hate relationship though, because I often find myself sitting on Facebook or watching iPlayer for hours, wasting my day!

Anyway because of the fact the web is now so important for businesses and individuals I have decided to learn about the world of HTML and what it takes to actually build a website.

So I’m starting with the very basics, using simple sources from the Internet to teach me and help me to understand what it’s all about. I know there are many web design jobs out there at the moment due to more and more people developing their online presence so thought I’d investigate and see if it was something I’d be interested in! If I do enjoy it, maybe I’ll do a course and see where that takes me. It’s a good way to spend my time, rather than moping about being unable to find a better job!

I’ve been told this book is quite good so will add it to the christmas list:

These websites have been helpful so far:

If you just type ‘HTML’ in google loads of stuff comes up.

So far I’ve just created a simple web page with a background and a few headings and paragraphs.

I also managed to create links to this blog and a link so people can email me. It’s quite nice to see the final product coming together and all created just using a simple programme that comes on your computer! So here it is- my first attempt at a web page (not exactly inspiring content yet but it’s a work in progress!):

Velvet and Fur

I quite like the fact that velvet is back in fashion, although I’m yet to find my perfect piece of velvet attire!

I really like this dress, but the cut out back puts me off because it just makes underwear an issue!

How gorgeous is this body?! I love it, and if I had the figure I think i’d definitely buy it! (Black velvet pinstud body Topshop £38)

Wear with some highwaisted shorts like these ones for a high impact outfit.

Winter love mini shorts (£77 French Connection)

Topshop have some lovely velvet pieces at the moment:

Petite velvet tuck shift dress (£50) (available in tall as well)

Velvet heart back prom dress by dress up for Topshop (£55)

For a more subtle nod to the velvet trend try these pretty pink velvet bangles:

Fabric Chain Velvet Bangle Pack

Fabric chain velvet bangle pack (£18.50)

This cute velvet bag is great for a night out and comes in a range of colours. Velvet bow chain bag (£25)

I don’t think this section would be complete without a set of killer velvet heels!

Strut metal heel platform shoes (£65)

Now onto FUR.

There are so many lovely and cosy faux fur jackets in the shops at the moment so here are just a few of my favourites:

Coco fur £80 from AWear

Print Mia fur coat £80 (AWear)

The bodycon trend

The word bodycon is enough to get me reaching for my holding-in knickers and rushing to join the nearest gym. Why are many of the nice dresses out there so tight?? I guess they provide a motivation to lose a few pounds, which I’ve been meaning to do anyway. Only working 2 days a week means I find myself sitting on my bum for a lot of the day and I’ve become pretty lazy!

But here we are, these are some of my favourite bodycon dresses:

Halle Bodycon Bandage Dress. Missguided, £29.99

Navy Lace Bodycon Dress. River Island, £32

Sherry Dress in Charcoal, Black and Grey. Motel Rocks, £42

Pixie Sequin Flame Mesh Dress. Lipsy, £65. Pixie’s range at Lipsy is great, I really recommend it for party pieces like this one.

House of Dereon Lace Top Mini Dress. Lipsy, £75

From Beyonce’s clothing range, this LBD is simple but the lace detail provides edginess.

At £19.99 this dress is a steal. Get yours now from H&M!

Rosie Ruched Side Bodycon Long Sleeve Dress

Rosie Ruched Side Bodycon Long Sleeve Dress. £20

Getting a bit carried away now, but there are so many to choose from. Basically if you’re looking for lower priced dresses try I’ve ordered a couple of times from here and the dresses are pretty good. H&M is always a winner too.

For those of you looking for something more special, Lipsy is great for party dresses and ASOS has loads of different brands and styles.

Happy shopping!

Spangly dresses!

Right now I can’t get enough of sequin dresses and I’m loving all the glitter and sparkle that’s bang on trend at the moment. My previous post was about shoes but this one is dedicated to dresses. I’ve just bought a really lovely gold sequin dress and I want to share my purchase with you! So here it is:

At £55 this dress isn’t bad in terms of price. I think it’s definitely worth it, as it fits really well. I was worried it was going to be a little short but it was longer than expected. Looks great either with natural or black tights (or bare legs for the brave!) The stitching on the front down either side is really flattering and gives further shape to the dress and the wrap over front with slight ruching is flattering on the stomach area. The v-neck is perfect, not too low! I didn’t know until I got it but there are also shoulder pads which add a bit more edge to the dress. Also with no zip, there’s no worry about sequins catching. All in all I give it a 10 out of 10.

I plan to wear mine with simple black accessories because the dress gives enough of a statement on its own. Try teaming with patent courts and a black clutch for a sophisticated look.

However if you want to make the outfit even more of a statement, team it with leopard print heels. I love these ones from Office (£65)

Why is it that the majority of really pretty and stylish heels are ridiculously high!! Not all of us are petite (and able to walk in heels of such a great height without breaking our necks!) I’ve found loads of on-trend glitter heels but don’t fancy adding 4 inches or more to my height, as I’m 5’8″ already. I feel that a lot of shoe manufacturers don’t cater for us taller ladies, ok yes maybe I should embrace my height but it’s a little depressing when you go out and the men are considerably shorter than you! But that’s not the main reason- really high shoes are often pretty hard to walk in and leave you in pain at the end of the night! Now I know it sounds like I’m whinging but I’m just frustrated- I love wearing heels and they make me feel feminine and sexy but finding comfortable on-trend heels that aren’t too high is a pretty hard task. I’ve been looking just now and have found my favourite shoes (I will never purchase them, mostly because of the height but also because of what the purchase would do to my bank balance. Oh well, a girl can dream…)

So here they are- my top bling shoes:

1) Bling D glitter court shoe by DUNE. £85

2) ASOS Pump It Up glitter platform court shoe Shoe/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1702283&SearchQuery=glitter%20heels&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Glitter
